Padrino Child Sponsorship Program
A Padrino, Spanish for godparent or sponsor, is a person like you who makes a personal decision to invest in the individual and educational development of a child in need. More than 2 million children in Peru live in extreme poverty, without access to basic services like education, adequate shelter, running water, sanitation or food. Unable to afford the costs of education, many of these children are forced to work at an early age in menial street jobs. For about $1 a day ($400.00 annually), Padrinos enable a child to pursue their right to education in one of Coprodeli’s 9 schools or after-school outreach centers and open up a door of hope and opportunity.
Child Benefits
Your annual sponsorship of $400.00 provides your child with a school uniform, books and supplies, education (through grade 12), positive adult supervision, a structured environment and individualized attention, 2 balanced meals daily, basic health care, psychological care and guidance, social skills education and development.
Sponsor Benefits
As a Padrino, you are assured that there is a real connection between you and the child you support. The child you sponsor will know your name, write to you, and benefit directly from your sponsorship. Padrinos will benefit from an annual photo of your child, bi-annual letters from your child, opportunity to write your child as often as you please, opportunity to send small care packages to your child, opportunity to meet your child on a Coprodeli Service Trip.

IncuBusiness Initiative
Companies in the U.S. contribute $2,000 for each of two years towards a business incubator fund to provide microloans that help establish new businesses in the impoverished communities of Peru , where unemployment is a fundamental problem. As part of a business plan promoted by the Coprodeli initiative, each new business will be responsible for repaying its loans into a revolving fund that will help with the start-up costs for other new businesses. In this way, your donation flows into a self-funding project that will be able to provide working capital, assist with cash flow, and provide expertise to many new microenterprises. Please click here to be connected to our online registration or here to print a copy of the Donor Form.
Earthquake Relief & Reconstruction
The community's support in raising funds for earthquake relief and reconstruction has been tremendous. So far, through various fundraisers, events, and generous individuals, over $80,000 has been collected for medical supplies, food, clothing, and other aid. In addition, year end giving brought in an additional $8,000 - which will go towards delivering provisions and building temporary and permanent housing structures in the areas of Pisco, Canete, Chincha, and Ica - areas hardest hit by the earthquake.
Funds are still needed to support the ongoing work that will take years to complete. To make a donation towards this fund, simply click on the link below. We thank you in advance for your continued support!
Ebay Giving Works
Ebay’s success in developing an online marketplace is now benefiting the public sector through eBay Giving Works. Over $40 million have been raised for nonprofit organizations since GivingWorks launched in November 2003. How does it work? An eBay seller chooses to donate a percentage (10 - 100%) of their sale to a certified nonprofit listed on MissionFish, the exclusive charity solution provider for eBay Giving Works. The items appear with an eBay Giving Works icon - the benefiting nonprofit and the donation percentage also appear in the item description. Seller then pays their donation to MissionFish, who distributes the funds to the nonprofit and provides a receipt to the seller. Easy!
As a certified organization with MissionFish, Coprodeli is excited to be a part of this interactive program - giving has never been easier for the online world!
